Welcome to Jimcol.com, the portfolio website of Jimmy Collins.
Jimmy recently completed his work with the Field Band Foundation in South Africa. After one year of volunteering for the foundation as a music teacher and filmmaker, Jimmy has come to the end of his Fulbright fellowship, which sponsored his work, and will soon be returning to the United States to continue his career as an artist.
Before returning home, Jimmy will be traveling with friends through nine countries in Southern and Eastern Africa. He will be making videos for Current TV along the way and will also be distributing Way to Happiness and Youth for Human Rights booklets in every country. Expect to see additions to the Film, Photo, and Music sections of this page after he returns to the US in December.
Jimmy is currently in the recording studio finishing up a three-song demo with musician Bham Ntabeni. Noted producer and multi-talented artist, Bham has been a mainstay in South African music for over twenty years. Jimmy and Bham have teamed up to create several songs blending African and rock styles. With this demo, they hope to secure funding to create a full-length album by the end of 2009.

Jimmy will be concluding his mtvU blog in the coming weeks and will be starting a new blog upon his return to the US.
